Accounting firm Huygens entrusted Buro International with the redesign of their expanded office space. In collaboration with Het Kantoor van Morgen, the newly acquired adjacent building was fully fitted out. A welcoming reception area and a spacious meeting room were created, allowing clients to be received in style. The importance of a work environment that also serves as a pleasant living space for employees is reflected in the inclusion of a cosy staff kitchen and a practical shower facility.
The existing offices were also redesigned, with a clear focus on balancing collaboration and privacy. An open space was created, structured with vertical slats to subtly define different zones. With flexible workstations and dedicated focus rooms, the layout meets the full range of employee needs. The height-adjustable sit-stand desks comply with modern ergonomic standards.
Huygens was determined to shed the outdated image often associated with accounting firms. Warm materials and autumn tones highlight the office’s solid, stylish character. This inviting atmosphere continues into the dining area, where a custom-made solid oak monastery table takes centre stage. Buro International also delivered a bespoke bench and sofa, complemented by chairs in various colours. Surprisingly, the meeting table can also be converted into a ping-pong table.
